O-rings & static seals

Static seals are sealing elements fitted between surfaces with no relative motion, such as flanges, covers, fittings, connectors, plates and cylinder heads. The O-ring is the most widely used static seal in industry, valued for its simplicity, reliability and low cost, available in ISO 3601 and AS568 sizes.

O-ring

Toroidal seal with a circular cross-section, available in ISO 3601 and AS568/BS sizes, in NBR, FKM/Viton®, EPDM, VMQ, HNBR, FFKM, PTFE and polyurethane, with hardness from 40 to 98 Shore A.

X-ring (quad-ring)

Seal with a four-lobed cross-section, giving a double sealing line compared with an O-ring. Reduces friction in light dynamic applications and prevents spiral twist in the groove.

Encapsulated O-ring (FEP/PFA)

Elastomer or silicone core coated in FEP or PFA, combining the elasticity of the elastomer with the chemical inertness of the fluoropolymer. Used in chemically aggressive environments.

Anti-extrusion rings (BK, BKC, BKS)

Rings in PTFE, or thermoplastics such as PEEK and POM, that protect the O-ring from extrusion at high pressure. Available in BK, BKC and BKS profiles.

D-ring

Seal with a "D"-shaped cross-section, offering a larger bearing surface than an O-ring. Used in flanges and covers that require stable positioning.

Backup ring (PBK)

Anti-extrusion ring in NBR or thermoplastic, fitted alongside the O-ring. Prevents extrusion of the seal at high pressure.
